SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) has been the extract/transform/load (ETL) tool inside SQL Server since 2005. In today's hybrid landscape Microsoft Azure has emerged as a necessity, which results in the need to update existing ETL logic.

In this demo-laden session we will use Data Flows to port existing ETL logic to a native Azure Data Factory solution, helping to make the migration from Earthed to Cloud painless. We will discuss architecture as well, including ways to use SSIS in Azure as an alternative solution.

You will learn:

  • How to use Mapping Data Flows as an alternative to SSIS
  • Different ways to run SSIS in Azure
  • "Lift and Shift" SSIS Packages to Azure Data Factory
